Ladies and Gentlemen:

The title of my speech is: one step closer to the dream.

You must have heard about the five friendlies, the official mascots of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. They embody a dream that the whole world has---a dream of living in a harmonious world.

However, in the countryside of china, few people know about the friendlies and 2008 Olympics. “One world, one dream” cannot be fulfilled without the participation of people in the countryside. To support Beijing Olympic Games, last winter, I called on my classmates to make the friendlies by ourselves and took them to the children in the village. Our efforts were not in vain. Those handmade friendlies greatly appealed to the villagers.

Each contribution, no matter big or small, makes a difference. If we do one thing for the Olympics, we are on step closer to our dream---a dream of living in a harmonious world that is full of love, friendship and peace! That’s all. Thank you.

女士们，先生们：

今天我演讲的题目是：让我们离梦想更近一步。

大家一定都了解北京2008奥运会的吉祥物---五个可爱的福娃。它们体现出了全世界的一个共同的梦想，一个创建和谐世界的梦想。

但是，在中国的农村却只有少数人知道福娃或是2008奥运会。让“同个世界，同个梦想”实现，农村同胞们的参与是不可或缺的。去年冬天，为了支持北京奥运会，我叫上了我的同学一起自己动手做起了福娃，并把它们送到的乡村孩子们的手上。我们的努力并没有白废。乡村的朋友们对我们自己做的福娃很感兴趣。

每一次的贡献，无论是大或小，都能起到不小的作用。只要我们为奥运做一件小事，我们就离共同的梦想又近了一步，离一个让全世界和谐并充满爱，友谊，和和平的梦想近了一步。
